When you are able to think about the subject without needing to look at the written word, you are on your way to developing the ability to write an essay.As a student, you must be able to read, listen, and take in information without really focusing on it. This is where the ability to think about a subject comes into play. When you begin to understand this process and apply it to the different kinds of writing you will begin to develop your own writing skills.
