There is no reason that you should be shocked by this; after all, how many colleges and universities require students to write essays? First of all, they are often used in place of a traditional academic writing assignment. They want to be getting experience and exploring areas of interest so the essay gives them an opportunity to do that.As I mentioned before, this can be a very effective strategy for a college admission essay if your goal is to get into a graduate program. However, in the long run, you may find that yo u find it easier to take advantage of these essays as well. After all, if you can't stand the idea of writing an essay, you are certainly not going to be able to write it.In short, Empire State College has introduced essay samples to their admissions application as a way of helping students discover how to write a better essay. You should certainly take advantage of this opportunity as well. The Empire State College essays may be a bit different than what you would have learned in high school but at least you will find the time to write one of them.
